Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

The Firm wants this website to be usable by everyone who comes to it, including people who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard alone, enlarge the text, or rely on high contrast. Access to a lawyer should not depend on how you use a computer.

Conformance status

This website is designed to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We consider it partially conformant: the site was built to that standard and tested against it, and parts supplied by other companies have not been audited by us. Partially conformant means most of the site meets the standard and some parts, described below, may not.

What has been done

• A “Skip to main content” link as the first thing the keyboard reaches on every page
• Every menu, link and button reachable and operable by keyboard. The Attorneys sub-menu opens when its link receives focus, the attorney names follow in the tab order, and Escape closes it
• A visible outline showing where the keyboard is, on every interactive element
• The mobile menu holds keyboard focus while it is open, closes with Escape, and returns you to the button you opened it with
• Text contrast meeting or exceeding the 4.5 to 1 ratio the standard requires, including the attorney biographies
• Headings in order, landmark regions, and descriptive text for every meaningful image
• Pages that work at any window size and when text is enlarged

Known limitations

The professional rating badges on the attorney pages are supplied and controlled by Super Lawyers and Martindale-Hubbell, and the map on the contact page is supplied by Google. These run their own code, which the Firm cannot alter. The information in the badges is also written out as text beside them, so nothing they convey is available only inside the badge.

This site has not yet been tested by a person using a screen reader day to day. Automated testing and keyboard testing have been done; that is not the same thing, and this statement will be updated when it has.
